Maya’s practice is rooted in the definition of yoga, to yoke. Her teaching advocates for our hearts, minds, and bodies to communicate in unison - meeting us where we are with love and deep gratitude. As you flow with Maya — you’ll notice principles from her academic background in Pan-African Studies as well as her chosen lineage of Toni Morrison, Earth Wind and Fire, and Audre Lorde.
Maya teachings include gentle vinyasa, yin and restorative yoga — yoga styles that encourage all the props to support one’s unique practice! She received her 200 YTT certification in March 2020 at Sacred Chill West Atlanta, GA and has completed immersion courses in Art of Rest Restorative yoga, Mindfulness in Kids yoga, Accessible Yoga, and mentorship with Octavia Raheem.
